About This Course

In Samskrutam (Sanskrit), Aadya means ‘the beginning’. As the name suggests, Aadya is the beginning of an enriching journey towards the learning of this charming language and is the first level in the curriculum. The syllabus of Aadya 1 has been carefully designed keeping every type of learner in mind. It would enable anyone, even those who are unfamiliar with the script, to gain in-depth knowledge of the basics of Samskrutam. It helps learners to understand, speak and write this ‘Devabasha’ and builds a strong foundation to foray further into the next levels with confidence. All the learning can be done from the convenience of our homes - the classes are conducted online twice or thrice a week using online conferencing platforms like Google meet or Zoom. With proficient teachers, interactive online sessions, informative and intuitive classroom activities, learning is fun at VVM.

Exam Pattern

  • 1. Evaluation is done at the end of each term
  • 2. Evaluation is done online.
  • 3. Qualifying students are given an e-Certificates and can register for the next level.
  • 4. End-Term online evaluation is for 100 marks.
  • Examination follows three-pronged approach:
  • => MCQs for 40 marks using forms
  • => Written test for 40 marks.
  • => 20 marks for internal classroom activities and an oral evaluation

1. Who can register for the course?

Anyone who is interested in learning Samskrutam can register for the course.

Yes you can. Anyone above the age 10 can register and learn.

Definitely. The course starts from the basics and covers almost all the topics that are taught in the schools at present. It follows a step-by-step approach in the understanding of the language. It makes the learner very strong in the basics which will help them in the long run.

At present, the classes are being conducted in Tamil.

At present, the books are available in Samskrutam with Tamil explanations.


Classes are conducted twice/thrice in a week. Various time slots distributed throughout the week are available. A student can choose any time slot as per his/her convenience. Details regarding the timings are provided during enrolment and student can choose convenient timing before enrolling.

Absolutely not. The course has been designed keeping all these factors in mind. The number of senior citizens who are currently enrolled stands testimony to this fact.

Yes. The course is totally online. It just needs attending 2/3 classes per week. The evaluation at the end is also online, which makes it very convenient for those who are working, to pursue the course.

Aadya - 1 is the first level to enrol into for new Samskrutam learners.

Generally writing and clearing the exam is the criterion for admission into the next levels. However, for genuine cases, exceptions can be considered on a case on case basis. Please contact class teacher for more details.

Classes are conducted totally free of charge at VVM. There is no course fee for the classes. Altogether, for Aadya-1, a sum of Rs. 500/- is to paid during registration which covers books(including delivery charges within India), assessments and certificate.

There is no separate fee for the end-of-the term examination. The fee paid towards the beginning of the term towards books, covers the exam and certificate cost also.

The course fee includes the cost of book(s) and registering for the end-of-the-course-examination. Books will be sent to the address provided(within India) during registration.
