At the end of the cosmic dance, Maheshwara, The king of all Dances played his Damaru to create 14 sets of sounds to uplift Sanaka and other great rishis to world of sounds ( letters ) for best expressing the knowledge and wisdom given by Him to the entire world. These 14 sets of sounds are called Maheshwara Sutraani which forms the basis on which all the Samskrita letters are formed.
